The main reason I chose Independent Driving School was because they could make me feel at ease when I was so nervous to start.
I have been learning to drive with Adam from Independent Driving since May 2024 and passed my driving test with him today in January 2025!
I was very nervous to begin learning to drive and had put it off for years, Adam made me feel so at ease and comfortable with driving in my first lesson that it really helped me to find joy in driving and I really loved my lessons! I found Adam’s teaching style to be really helpful, he is firm and will tell you when you’ve made a mistake and how you could’ve avoided it, but he also ensures that you are aware of when you’re doing things well too, which is a massive help for any learner drivers confidence. Adam is a very easy guy to get along with, he’s a great laugh and has made sure I’ve looked forward to each one of my lessons.
I am so grateful to have had such a wonderful driving instructor who has helped me to achieve what I thought I never would! I will really miss my lessons but encourage anyone looking to learn to go to Adam for your lessons! .”

My driving instructor was Matt Hitt. It was only last year in September when I wanted to progress and get more independent that I came to Independent Driving School and got given Matt. I’m proud to say I made the right decision.
He was very flexible working around my difficult work pattern and catered to what I was after. A very friendly, supportive guy I would recommend him to anyone who is wanting to learn to drive any day.

My instructor was Jason Clark and he was absolutely fantastic! From my very first lesson he was fun, open and honest with his feedback, understood exactly what I wanted out of each lesson and guided me on the areas I needed to improve on, he did this in a considerate, light manner without coming across authoritarian, it felt like I was in the car with a friend helping me out rather than an instructor.
He ensured we went through lots of test routes and manoeuvres together so I was fully confident in the local roads and how to perform every manoeuvre safely, even taking me driving round Dorchester just in case I could get an earlier test date for that centre instead of Poole. Despite knowing how to drive already Jason was able to help me perfect my driving and enabled me to pass my test first time around with only 1 driver fault and I credit this to Jason’s training style.
I would recommend him to anyone who is wanting to learn to driver! Don’t stop doing what you’re doing Jason!”
